Super smart, hysterically funny and never afraid to confront bs or stand up and be counted...that is who Scott was and is. When he first told me he was sick, I couldn't believe it because he was so full of life and determination. What's more as we continued talking over the months he was genuinely more interested in encouraging me in my silly struggles with mid-life cliches when it should have been me encouraging him, but that's Scott. He was able to dismiss his own heartache with a funny and flippant comment and make you feel like everything was going to be okay. I will miss his heart, his humor and his brilliance as a writer, but most of all I will miss my friend. To Grant and his parents - I am so deeply sorry as this is such a painful loss, but I keep comforting myself with the knowledge that he is free from stupid cancer and waiting for us all on the other side.
