Keep Smiling
I have been best friends with Debbie since high school. Even though she moved away, all that was needed was a phone call, a quick visit home or a letter and we were right back as always, besties. I never worried about her because Dennis was there. He so loved his Mrs. Willey and took great care of her as she did of him. Her loving care is what helped him to survive so long after his diagnosis.
Here is my tribute to a great man ( I posted this on another site and I feel this is how I will remember this magnificent human being.)
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the Palm of His hand.
Our dear friend Dennis Willey, lost the his struggle with pancreatic cancer, early this morning. He passed quietly in his sleep. Dennis was an outlander....he fought 2 yrs and 8 mo from diagnosis. He amazed his doctors and actually all of us. You dont get to choose how long you survive, especially with this disease. But, it was the way Dennis lived that was amazing. He spread such joy, such appreciation for life and his love of God. His motto was keep smiling, even when it was hard to smile. He loved Debbie more than life itself. He loved his dogs, sports teams and his family/friends. We will never forget you. We will try to keep smiling. I look forward to see your new Willey World up in heaven. Love you buddy
I picture Dennis up in heaven, having front row seats at the Packers games and in pure joy. For he was truly a Holy man.
