Joseph Fenwick Noakes October 18, 1935 – November 4, 2022
Joseph Fenwick Noakes, 87 years old, of Kingwood, TX went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2022. He was born on October 18, 1935 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Joseph and Mary Noakes and grew up with his two sisters, Joan and Irene. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and attended William and Mary University on a football scholarship, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He met his first wife of 56 years, Audrey, while living in New Jersey. Joe and Audrey married on March 21, 1959 and raised 3 children together. After college, Joe went on to serve in the US Army for 2 years. He went on to build a career at Exxon Chemical serving in the railcar industry. Throughout his time at Exxon, his biggest accomplishment was to develop the current rail car numbering scheme used today. While at Exxon, he made many lasting friendships and enjoyed his career and colleagues. Joe and his family transferred to Houston in 1970 where he continued to work until he retired in 1990. Joe was an avid woodworker as well as he loved to maintain a beautiful healthy home. Joe’s greatest joy was spending time with his kids and grandkids, for many years participating in monthly family gatherings to celebrate Birthdays, anniversaries and Holidays with them.
Joseph is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Audrey F. Noakes and his son Kenneth B. Noakes. Joe is survived by his wife Savannah L. Cowell-Noakes, his oldest daughter, Susan Vento and her husband Bryan Vento and their sons Brandon, his wife Mary Kate and Coulton Vento, daughter-in-law Colleen Noakes and her three sons Connor Noakes, Kyle Noakes, and Cameron Noakes, his youngest daughter Wendy Turner, her husband Clark Turner and their son Casey Turner, as well as a host of other relatives and many close friends.
A visitation will be held on November 14th 2022 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter, TX at 11:00am. The funeral service will be at 2:00pm on November 14th , 2022 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Porter, TX. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park North, in Porter, TX.
