Sewing the Pieces Together
I met Marilyn in the summer of 2012. I was in a relationship with her older brother, Mike. She didnt have to welcome me into the family, but she did. She also opened her heart to my son, Matthew. Two stories stand out in my mind. One was when we went to visit her at Thanksgiving in 2017. She welcomed Matthew with open arms and even had a special room set up for him. Another is when she connected with a mutual friend of ours. Marilyn told her that our Matthew was going to be attending LaTech in the fall. OUR Matthew; even though he was not related to her, she accepted him as her own. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, snd sister-in-law. She helped me put the pieces of my life back together in a way she never knew, just like she sewed pieces of fabric together to create beautiful quilts. I know my life has been made richer and fuller because of her love. Thank you, Marilyn, for being my forever sister-in-law and friend. Your courage has been an inspiration, and your light will always shine.
