Loraine Goss (Dempsey)
Loraine Goss, of Hull - Daisetta, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2021. Born on July 29, 1938, all of her teen and adult life was spent in Humble, TX.
Loraine was a faithful, lifelong member of Humble First Assembly of God Church. She attended the church from its time on Granbury Street in the 50’s and 60,s to the late 70’s, and continued attending the church when it moved to North Houston Avenue and finally, in the early 90’s, the new church on 1960 where she attended services until her health began to fail her in the recent years. First Assembly of God was a family of like-minded worshipers. Her attendance and membership fostered lifelong friends from a time when everyone knew everyone and one generation followed the next in this time-honored tradition.
Loraine was very active in the church, working in the nursery, singing in the choir and insuring her children attended church. She assisted in implementing the Missionette’s program, taught Sunday school, Vacation Bible School, and was active in the Women’s Ministries, played on the church’s softball league and a number of other church activities.
Loraine is preceded in death by her parents; David (Dave) Dempsey and Ethyl Walters Dempsey, and brother Jim Dempsey.
She is survived by her children; Chris Alan Goss, wife Debbie, Marvin Wendell Goss, wife Chelle, Gregory Dave Goss and Philip Ralston Clegg, Steven Kent Goss and Michael R Cass, Grandchildren; Kevin Goss (wife Samantha), Kelli Garza (husband Aaron), Kasey Foster (husband Derrick), Karly Goss (fiancé Francis), Clint Goss, Cody Goss, Haley Martin (husband Matt) and Rachel Fisher (husband Augustine), Sisters; Willie Conner, Leta Kellogg and brother; Joe Dempsey numerous great grand kids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of life long friends.
