Obituary for Carroll Wayne Campbell

Carroll Wayne  Campbell
Services for Carroll Wayne Campbell of Humble, TX, will be held Saturday, January 9th, beginning with a visitation at 10:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am. Rosewood Funeral Home in Atascocita, TX, will be conducting the services.
Carroll was born July 15, 1939, in Gladewater, TX, and passed away January 5, 2021, with his wife of 55 years by his side. He was the firstborn child to Clarence and Clara Campbell. He would soon be joined by two sisters, Elaine and Kathy. Carroll lived most of his formative years in Nacogdoches, TX, and attended Nacogdoches High School.
After high school, he attended Stephen F. Austin State University for a short time and then entered the United States Army. Carroll proudly served in the US Army Honor Guard located at Arlington National Cemetery from 1960-1962. Shortly after leaving the Army, he completed his degree in Accounting at SFASU in May 1965.
In late 1964, Carroll met Terry Lynn Hutson at SFASU and they were married in September of 1965. He and Terry celebrated 55 of marriage this past September. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Chris and Allison, and spent the majority of their married life in the Kingwood, TX, area.
Carroll served on numerous boards in the community during his life in addition to being employed in banking, real estate, and the airline business. He was very active in his children’s sports throughout their entire life, serving as a board member, coach, manager, and later as a fan. Some of his favorite hobbies included traveling and sports. He and Terry traveled the world.
Carroll was a Christian and lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He and Terry worshipped at the New Caney Church of Christ from 2007 to present. Carroll considered himself to have had and lived a blessed life.
Carroll was predeceased by his father, mother, stepfather Lewis West, his sister Elaine, and his nephew Kevin Meadows.
Survivors include: wife, Terry, son Chris and wife Cathy Campbell of Rogers, AR, grandchildren Chapman and Chaney, also of Rogers. Daughter Allison Campbell of Houston, TX. Sister Kathy and brother-in-law Carl Meadows of Longview, TX. Brother in Law Jim Debruin of Willis, Tx. Sister and brother in law Janice and Lawrence Wingate of Valley Mills, TX. Cousin and close friend Billy Reeves of Baton Rouge, LA, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones and friends.
