Obituary for Gary Lynn Terry

Gary Lynn Terry
Gary Lynn Terry, 70, of Huffman, passed away in his home on December 29, 2020. He was born June 2, 1950 in Monroe, LA to Sidney and Arlene Terry.
Gary grew up the youngest of 4 boys. They were always getting into something but to hear his mother speak he did no wrong!
In Jan 1968, Gary joined the US Army where he proudly served his country for 9.5 years. While in Vietnam he served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. He was proud of his country and his fellow soldiers.
Gary spent the last 30+ years in the transportation business on the logistics side. It was well known that you went to him for directions NOT the GPS. He could tell you how to get anywhere regardless of how turned around you were, both on the road and in life.
He loved his family, old westerns, playing cards, and he never passed up the opportunity to hold a baby.
Gary is survived by his bride of 52 years, Pat Terry, their daughter in law Yvonne Terry, son James Terry and wife Avery, son Patrick Terry, daughter Lily Murphy and husband Dylan, and daughter Deborah Lyons and husband Cody, 11 grandsons, 8 granddaughters, 2 granddaughters in law, 3 grandsons in law, and 10 great grandchildren. As well as 2 brothers, Wesley Terry and Pete Terry, and a host of friends that became family.
He is preceded in death by his father Sidney Terry, mother Arlene Terry, brother Wayne Terry, and son Kevin Terry.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Lake Houston United Methodist Church, The American Cancer Society, or to your home church.
