Obituary for
Angela Kay Dillon (Winslow)
Angela Kay Dillon was born on July 12, 1966 and passed from this life on September 4, 2020.
Loved and treasured, Angela leaves behind Craig Dillon, her husband of 35 years; son and daughter-in-love, Seth and Asia Dillon; son, Ethan Dillon; daughter, Grace Dillon; precious grandchildren, William (Liam), Aravis, and Everly Dillon; parents, Gerald Winslow, Sr. and Carolyn Williams Winslow; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald Ray and Kelly Winslow; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Ty Fleming; brothers-in-law, Ronald Dillon and Donald Dillon, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Angela was a faithful Christian, having obeyed the gospel in baptism on October 28, 1979 at the Morning Glory Church of Christ in Pasadena, Texas. Steadfast in her love of the Lord, she was a tireless worker and a founding member of the College Park Church of Christ in Conroe, Texas where she not only supported her husband Craig in his work as a deacon, but blessed many with her innumerable acts of kindness and generosity, including donating to Church of Christ Nigeria, Church of Christ India, Sunny Glen Children’s Home, and various fundraisers. Over the years, Angela graciously fulfilled many requests that she sing in the weddings and funerals of close friends. Her beautiful soprano voice, rising pure and sweet in worship services, will be missed.
Angela adored her husband Craig. After marrying in 1985, they built a life they both loved, moving out of the city to raise their children among the wooded acres of Magnolia, Texas. Angela poured her whole heart into caring for her family. She respected her husband and nurtured their children, encouraging and supporting their dreams. With a passion for cooking and music, she filled her home with extraordinarily delicious meals and music of all kinds – classical, gospel, and western. She loved playing her piano, and it is no surprise Angela was an enthusiastic, although exhausted, high school band mom. Years passed, Angela’s family grew, and her joy increased when she was blessed to be called, “Granmomma.”
An entrepreneurial spirit had taken hold in Angela in 1995 and she started her own business, Embellishments by Angela. Angela was an incredibly talented designer and 4th generation seamstress who delighted clients with bedding ensembles, memory blankets, table coverings, accent pillows, and face coverings. Her work has been featured in locally and nationally circulated magazines. Commissioned to design custom items for fundraising auctions, Angela’s pieces alone have raised nearly half a million dollars for worthy causes. She worked hard to expand her business, forging relationships and networking with fellow business owners all across Houston. Angela built a sterling reputation and was known as a supportive and reliable colleague.
Loving to travel and explore, Angela celebrated God’s creation with enthusiasm and child-like wonder, making repeated trips to Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, and the Great Smoky Mountains. No one was better at spotting grizzly bears, moose, and other wild animals. Angela also enjoyed a multitude of cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean and touring the small towns of Austria. Because Angela loved sharing her adventures, she organized many exciting trips with family and friends; we will cherish those memories always.
Angela has journeyed on ahead of us now and is resting in the promises of her Savior, but we will always remember that she lived every moment in service to God and others. She loved without restraint. She gave without limit. We clearly witnessed the traits of a virtuous woman in our precious Angela.
