Patty G. Marsh (Gray)
A memorial service for Mary Patricia (Patty) Gray Marsh (65) will take place on Monday January 8, 2018 at 2:00pm in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church of Humble, Reverend Jim Flagg officiating. A reception will follow in First Methodist’s Fellowship Hall.
Patty was born on December 4, 1952 in Great Bend, KS to William Jack and Argie Pauline Gray. As a child Patty would live in Kansas, Venezuela, Texas, and Oklahoma before pursuing her college education first at Southwestern State University at Weatherford, OK. Patty would go on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK, and a Master of Science in Speech Pathology from Phillips University formerly in Enid, OK. Following her graduation Patty worked for several years as a Speech Pathologist for the State of Oklahoma.
While attending the University of Oklahoma, in Norman, OK, Patty met and then became engaged to Henry Anthony Marsh, Jr. of Duncan, OK. They married on July 2, 1977 in the First Christian Church of Duncan and would live in Norman until the summer of 1980. Patty and Henry moved to Humble, TX in the Fall of 1980 where she would work as a speech pathologist, reading tutor and later a school volunteer at Humble Elementary.
Patty was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Humble, TX from 1985 onward. Active in Christian Education, she was an elementary Sunday school teacher, member and twice president of the United Methodist Women, and led the Ladies Bible Study for over twenty years.
Patty is survived by her husband Henry A. Marsh, Jr. of Humble, TX and her son Matthew Gray Marsh, temporarily of Grand Forks, ND. Patty has three surviving sisters: Peggy Savage of Hutchinson, KS, Teresa Brown of Montrose, CO, and Terry Hooper of Andrews, TX. Patty also has a surviving uncle Ronald Combs of Georgetown, TX; and three cousins: Patrick Combs of Georgetown, TX, Janet Vance of Wichita, KS, and Aletha McPhetridge of Bakersfield, CA.
