Obituary for Ronnie L. McKinney

Ronnie L. McKinney
Beyond the sunset, you hear the angels singing. What a glorious day in heaven it must be. Ronnie McKinney has joined the angels, in their band. His guitar is golden. On December 4 surrounded by his family Ronnie strolled into heaven.
He was a kind and gentle man. He loved music with his entire soul. Ronnie was one of the wittiest men you would have ever met. He was always entertaining. Whether you called their home and got his answering machine or performing onstage at the local Opry's, or while he was entertaining Myle and friends in their living room. The man knew how to make you smile. He loved greatly and was greatly loved.
Ronnie was in his element with his guitar on his lap. He will always be remembered for his ability to liven up a room with his talent and charm in creating memories for everyone who knew him.
His dear friends Glen Campbell and Glenn Barber were two of his first picking and grinning friends, as Ronnie began his lifetime of music. But his favorite partner on stage and in life was his adoring wife Myle. Ronnie and Myle were married 38 years. Each was the object of adoration for the other.
Ronnie was born in 1934 in Alvin Texas to Harold and Ruby McKinney. He was a proud member of the IBEW electrical union.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers Jimmy and Del Ray McKinney, a twin sister Connie McKinney Stuart and was joined in death within days by his beautiful daughter-in-law Delonda McKinney.
Ronnie is survived by his wife Myle Cheshier McKinney, sons Glenn McKinney and Jim McKinney, daughters Rhonda McKinney Baldwin, and Cheryl McKinney Haynes and her husband Mark Meyers. He is further survived by 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Also left behind are legions of friends who will mourn his passing, but celebrate his life.
A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home 3939 Pasadena Blvd. on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 2 PM. The service will be under the direction of Minister Barry Day and Associate Minister Charles Davis of Watters Rd. Church of Christ, where Ronnie and Myle worshiped faithfully.
The family invites you to fellowship with them after the services in Annex A at Watters Road Church of Christ 3616 Waters Rd., Pasadena, TX 77504.
In Lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made in his name to the Watters Road Church of Christ Building Fund or to the Lawrence Hazelip Scholarship Fund at 3616 Waters Rd., Pasadena, TX 77504 or a nonprofit of your choice.
