Obituary for
Ila Faye Nance (Weathers)
Ila Weathers Nance, a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and cherished friend born on March 26, 1925 on a farm near Gilmer, Texas was called home by her Lord on March 15, 2023 at the age of 97 years – eleven months – 17 days.
She was born to Mattie and Oscar Weathers, and married Joseph Nance on June 7, 1946. They were blessed with two sons, Nathan Nance and Lynn Nance, and one daughter, Kay Webster. In addition to her children, she is survived by a step-son, Robert Nance, seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Ila was a member of Little York Baptist Church until the church closed; after which she looked to her family and her God, and held tight to her conviction of faith and prayers to help in her daily life. The family will have many good memories and will strive to live the lives she would want for each of them. As for now, we ask the Lord to see her safely home to meet with loved ones who are awaiting her.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM. Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Rosewood Funeral Chapel with interment following at Rosewood Memorial Park in Humble, Texas.
