Andria Renee Koons Jones, age 45, of Huffman, Texas, our beautiful, intelligent, caring, animal-loving, and most importantly God loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend passed from this realm and went to be with her Jesus for all eternity on Sunday, September 19th, 2021.
She was born on July 4, 1976, the bicentennial year of our country, in Fairmont, MN to William and Sue (Kellander) Koons. She lived most of her youth near Sherburn, MN and loved farm life, horses, and especially cats. A great student and creative, she had a curious nature and love of learning imprinted in her, passed down in her genetics. The love of art, photography, and nature came to her the same way. Her favorite spots as a child were in the barn with a cat on her lap or riding one of her horses. Andria attended Martin County West High School in Sherburn, MN; Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa; then transferred to Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
On May 17, 1997, she married the love of her life, Lance Lincoln Jones at Sherburn, MN. They lived in several different places but ultimately settled down in the Houston, TX area—initially in Porter, where Ethan (age 16) and Ben (age 13) were born. They then moved to their current home in Huffman, TX in 2017.
Andria was the ever-diligent home school mom and an active member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Kingwood, TX. Lover of all things “nature,” she was always taking pictures and loved to travel around the world with her husband and sons (camera in hand). When she needed some peace and tranquility, her favorite two places to be were in the barn with her horses and relaxing in her love-seat with her perfect cat, Daisy.
Loved and treasured by many, Andria is survived by her husband, Lance; her sons, Ethan and Ben of Huffman, TX; her parents William and Sue Koons of Sherburn, MN; parents-in-law Larry and Linda Jones of Lake Kiowa, TX; brother-in-law Loren (Keri) Jones and children Abbi, Emily, Rachel, and Hanna of Wichita Falls, TX; sister-in-law Lisa (Jay) Houk and children Sam, Katie, and Raelin, of Lake Kiowa, TX; paternal grandmother Evelyn Koons Altman of Welcome, MN; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and also her horses, cats and dog (Pete, Jasmine, Felix, Daisy, Bella, and Tony.)
Preceding her in passing are paternal grandfather William F. Koons; step-grandfather Joseph Altman; maternal grandparents Gordon and Connie Kellander.
