Obituary for
Juanita Schott (St. Romain)
Juanita St. Romain Schott passed away at her home in Humble, Texas, on September 1, 2018, at the age of 93 years and 8 months.
Juanita was born on January 15, 1925, to Marshall St. Romain and Anne Maude Arendell. As a child of the Great Depression, she spent her youth growing up in a number of states of the Deep South. In her teenage years, she moved to the Humble area where she attended and graduated from Humble High School. It was at Humble High School that she met her beloved Charles and they began a life together that would span almost fifty years. The two were inseparable and she played an active role in running the family business, Schott and Sons Grocery, while also raising three sons. Despite her involvement with the family business, everyone knew that her top priority was family.
In 1989, Juanita lost her husband Charles to a long illness. This brought her to a new chapter in her life marked by her strong sense of family pride and independence, a connection with many friends both old and new, and a renewed devotion to her spiritual home, the First United Methodist Church of Humble. During this time, she enjoyed volunteering at the Church, visiting and playing games with the “Merry Widows,” and helping with service committees. She also remained a devoted and proud mother to her three sons until the end.
Juanita was preceded in death by her father, Marshall, her mother, Anne, and husband, Charles. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Weldon and Danna Schott; her son and daughter-in-law David and Cheryl Schott; her son and daughter-in-law Marshall and Beth Schott; her grandchildren Jeremy and Whitney Schott. The family is blessed to announce that Juanita got to meet her first great-grandson, Tucker Lee Shamburger before her passing.
A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble. A funeral and celebration of her life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Humble, Texas, at 10am on Friday, September 7, 2018. A luncheon will follow the service. Interment will take place at 1pm at Brookside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Humble in her memory.
