Donald Isac Shelton, Sr., 70, born August 23, 1945, in Houston, Texas to Freddie and Ruby Shelton passed away May 17, 2016, in Pasadena, Texas.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Shelton; by his children, Donald Shelton, Jr., Brian and Dena Shelton, and Jason and Kimberly Shelton; by his grandchildren, Robert Stringer, Michael and Chelsey Stringer, Kody Shelton, Leah Taylor, Kaitlin Shelton, Cameron Taylor, Justice Shelton, Merce Shelton, and Shea Laskoskie; by his great-grandchild, Rylee Stringer; by his siblings, Francis Walker, Ruby Porter, James Shelton, and also by many nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by three sisters, and one brother.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2016, at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, Texas 77503. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, in Rosewood Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service and interment with military honors well deserved will be held at 1:15 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016, at Houston National Cemetery.
