Charles "Chuck" Andrew Court Jr.
Charles Andrew Court, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Charles was born July 11, 1957 in Houston, TX to Charles and Janice Court. He attended grade school in Houston and high school in Pasadena. He was trained as a boxer by Karl Zurheide and fought in several local bouts as a child and teenager and boxed in the Golden Gloves at ten years old. Highlights of his boxing career were meeting Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, Mark Tessman and Jesse Valdez, who won the Olympic Bronze Medal in 1972. Charles was an avid fisherman, boater, and enjoyed sitting by the fire, grilling, and listening to music. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, fishing and the many road trips. Charles was employed by the City of Pasadena for the last thirteen years, most recent years as a Building Inspector for the City’s Permit Department.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jolenta, stepson and wife, Ben and Dawn Hughes and grandchildren Rachel and James Hughes of Katy, TX. In addition, he is survived by his father, Charles A. Court, Sr., and wife, Betty, of Denham Springs, LA; two brothers David Court of Trinity, TX and Jesse Court and wife Audra of Santa Fe, TX. Charles is survived by four sisters: Vickie and husband Ken George of Ellsinore, MO; Brenda and husband Gary Beall of Santa Fe, TX; Cathy Harrison of Williamsburg, KY; and Stacy Petersen of Katy, TX. Also, survivors include numerous nephews and nieces who love their Uncle Chuck and will miss him dearly.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother and stepdad, Janice and Gary Tubbs; and his stepson, Christopher Hughes.
Visitation is Friday, April 24th, from 11 a.m. to 12:00 with the memorial service immediately following at noon at Rosewood Funeral Home at 3939 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, TX.
