Raymond Hubert Martin
Raymond Hubert Martin, 81, loving Husband, Father, Pawpaw, and Great-Pawpaw went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 22, 2014.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 ½ years, Shirley Martin; by his children, Becky Moon and husband Lloyd, Randy Martin and wife Mari, and Beverly Martin; by his grandchildren, Amanda Moon Conrad, Ashley Truckey and husband Josh, Allison Moon, Ryan Martin and fiancée D’Onna Duvall, Courtney Zondor and husband Nathan, and his grand-puppy, Maggie Mae; by his great-grandchildren, Haelee Conrad, Savannah Conrad, R.J. Zondor, and also by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, family and many friends.
Hubert was a member of South Avenue Baptist Church of Pasadena for 50 years, where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School, and served on numerous committees. He loved to play 42 with some of his Sunday School buddies and Loy Ladd every Tuesday night. He also loved to play Amtrack every first and third Monday of every month with the Senior Adults at SABC. He was also known as the Candy Man, because he gave out peppermints every Sunday as he greeted everyone.
Hubert worked for Colonial Pipeline for 27 years and retired in March of 1990. He owned an Air Conditioning Business from 1970 - 2007. He also drove a school bus for LPISD and taught Air Conditioning Classes at San Jacinto College.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Rosewood Funeral Home, 3939 Pasadena Blvd., Pasadena, Texas 77503. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2014 at South Avenue Baptist Church of Pasadena, 605 Preston Ave., Pasadena, Tx. 77503, and interment will follow at La Porte Cemetery, in La Porte, Tx.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the South Avenue Baptist Church of Pasadena Building Fund.
