Obituary for Charles Edward Fisbeck

Charles “Charlie” Edward Fisbeck, 79, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

A celebration of life service will held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm at The First Baptist Church of the Woodlands located at 11801 Grograns Mill, The Woodlands, Texas 77380, where Charles and wife, Beth Fisbeck, were devout members for over 40 years.

Charles was born January 1, 1944, in Hempstead, Texas, to Erwin and Frankie Fisbeck. He graduated from Galena Park High School in 1962, where he was a State Champion in high jump and ran track. He attended San Jacinto College in 1963 and would later graduate from Prairie View University.

Charles was drafted into the United States Army on October 12, 1966, and fulfilled his 2-year commitment while being stationed in Texas, Louisiana, and Maryland. He received his Honorable Discharge on October 11, 1968, as an E-4 Rank, with honors for sharpshooter in both M14 and .45 caliber. He was awarded the National Defense Metal for his service to our Country.

Following his time in the United States Army, Charles worked for Shell Oil and Gas and would later work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller based out of the IAH Airport in Houston. He would eventually run a very successful Allstate office with his wife, Beth, until retirement in 2001. Charles was a jack-of-all-trades; he loved working on his classic cars, flying airplanes, home projects, his dogs, yardwork, and later in life playing golf with his family and friends. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed going to the library to research his family history.

Charles is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Beth Fisbeck of The Woodlands, his sister, Doris Fisbeck Edwards of Eagle Lake, TX. His daughter, Melissa Fisbeck Pearson and husband, Tony Pearson of San Antonio. His son, John Mitchell Fisbeck and wife, Maureen Fisbeck of Atascocita, TX. Stepdaughters Karen Peery and husband Brent Peery of Houston, TX and Katherine Dudek and husband Tom Dudek of Houston, TX. Grandchildren Emily, Savannah, Nate, Shelby, Jonathan, Anna, Garrett, Brooke, Ben, Joe, Eric and Ryan. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Erwin Fisbeck, and his first wife, Sue Holloway.
