Troy passed away peacefully on September 14th, 2023, at his home in New Caney, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 6th, 1964, in Houston, Texas to Jerry Clifton Bennett and Aline Weems Bennett. Troy met the love of his life, Lisa Hudson Bennett, in High School and they had a wonderful marriage for 42 years. After graduating Humble High School in 1983, he began his career at CenterPoint Energy, formally Houston Lighting & Power, as a meter reader working his way up to head lineman. After 38 years of service, he retired in November 2022. Troy was a member of the union IBEW local 66.

Troy was a wonderful husband, father, papa, and courageous fighter. He is survived by his wife Lisa and two children, Megan Bennett, partner Ashton Moss and granddaughter Athena Moss, and Brandon Bennett, wife Alexa Bennett and grandson Briggs Bennett. In addition, he is survived by his parents Jerry and Aline Bennett, brother Jerry Dwayne Bennett, wife Michelle Bennett and nephews Cameron and Ryan Bennett, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Troy’s family would like you to join them to celebrate his life. A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Home – Humble on Thursday September 21 st , 2023, at 2:00pm in the main chapel with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Troy’s honor to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, PanCAN.org.
