Ollie was born February 5, 1928 to Elwood and Trannie Billings. Ollie died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Watercrest of Kingwood.
Ollie was a proud veteran who served in the (Army) Air Force from the end of World War Two until the beginning of the Korean Conflict. He received his bachelor’s degree from Washington University (St. Louis, MO). Ollie was a credit manager for Marquette Cement, which later became Lone Star Industries, which later became Gulf and Western.
Ollie was an active member of Baptist churches wherever he lived serving in various capacities: Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, deacon and member of the choir.
Ollie loved to play golf, loved to travel the world, but most of all he loved his family. He always looked forward to family gatherings and often said his family was his greatest source of pride. Ollie was married to Billie Ruth Sealy until her death in 1969. Ollie and Ruth had four children: Dr. Tom Billings, Rich Billings, Angela Vanderslice and Lisa Long. After Billie Ruth’s passing, Ollie met and married Emma Ruth Azbil to whom he was married for forty-nine years until her death in 2020. Ollie had thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Because of our shared Christian faith, we grieve the loss of dad’s presence, but we believe that he’s never been more alive or at peace than he is today.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United City Church, 19901 Townsend, Blvd, Humble, Texas 77338.
