Obituary for Rollie E. Norris

Rollie Eugene Norris, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 13, 2023, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family. Rollie (better known as Bud or Buddy) was born August 6, 1934, in Springfield, Mo., to Ida Maude Rhodes and Rollie Otto Norris.

The family eventually settled in Houston, Texas, where Buddy graduated from Jefferson Davis High School. He was drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge in 1959.

Buddy was a master woodworker and made his living crafting custom cabinetry and countertops until he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, camping and watching old westerns on tv.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Grant Lee Norris, James V. Norris and Nadia Norris Stanford. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ouida Antley Norris, and his children, Wayne Eugene “Gene” Norris and wife, Kim, of Spring, Texas; and Pamela Lyn Norris Mueller, of Seattle, Wash; grandson, Cristopher Jon Sanchez, of New York, N.Y.; granddaughters, Emma Kate Mueller and Morgan Elizabeth Mueller, of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Johnnie Norris (Klatt), of Sealy; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be May 17, 2023, at noon at Rosewood Funeral Home located at 2602 S. Houston Ave., Humble, Texas 77396. The viewing will be from 10 a.m. to noon.
