Obituary for
Yolanda Garcia
Yolanda Garcia was born on February 27th, 1981 to Maria A. Sandoval and Gonzalo Garcia in Laredo, Texas. She later moved to Houston, Texas with her family while still a young child.
Yolanda accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Jose Sandoval and Sara Sandoval. Yolanda received her formal education in Houston, Texas public schools. After graduation she became a teacher and continued in the child care industry for over 15 years.
Yolanda developed a passion for baking, and arts & crafts on a professional level. She even desired to start her own business one day.
Yolanda had a beautiful soul and was kind, caring, and giving. She worked incredibly hard and was a strong woman who always made time and effort for her loved ones. Whenever there was an opportunity for singing and dancing she stole the show; she adored music. Given how cheerful and upbeat she was, it is not surprising that her favorite color was turquoise and that she admired butterflies.
Yolanda had an amazing bond with her family. She was more than just a sister to Elena; she was more like a mother and best friend. She also acted like a mother towards her nieces and godson. Yolanda was in a long-term relationship with Norris; ever since the day they met, they were inseparable. She also enjoyed hanging out with many of her friends. She had such an amazing personality, and will be missed by so many.
Yolanda was survived by her mom, Maria A. Sandoval; partner, Norris Johnson; sister, Elena; nieces Ayanna K. Garcia and Keilani A. Garcia; and godson Matteo N. Esparza.
Yolanda’s family wishes to acknowledge and express their sincere gratitude to all of those who have supported us during this time of loss.
