Obituary for
Mildred Elaine Venitucci (Brady)
A graveside service will be held for Mildred Elaine Brady Venitucci, at Rusk County Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 11 at 2:00 pm. Beloved wife, adored mother, loved and respected teacher, Mildred passed peacefully at home February 1, 2023.
Mildred was born in Pistol Hill, Rusk County, just outside of Kilgore, June 21, 1933, which was, as she was fond of pointing out, "The longest day of the year!". She was the daughter of John Enos Brady and Mildred Louise Bryant Brady who preceded her in death, as did her older brother John Enos Brady Jr. and younger brother Edgar Allen Brady. She is survived by her husband Gino Eugenio Venitucci, and her children, Walter Eugene Venitucci, (Carla Denise Nichols Venitucci), Caterina Caroline Venitucci and Luis Stephen Venitucci (Merrienne Loretto Koepsel) as well as her two grandsons, Alexander Cyril Bolaños and Logan Giuseppe Venitucci.
She was a pianist, teacher, avid reader, author, traveler, family historian, genealogist and former Kilgore Rangerette. She was a childhood friend of Van Cliburn, having taken piano lessons from his mother. While a Rangerette, she appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, and met Lyndon Johnson and John Wayne. In 1970, while in Venezuela, she placed second nationally in a trivia contest held by the country's English language newspaper, The Daily Journal.
Her quick wit, stories about her childhood, childhood friends, travels and escapades will be sorely missed, but we have them in our hearts, as we do our loving memories of her.
