Smartest Engineer I Ever Knew
Although retired now I worked w/ both Robert and Ruth at Stewart & Stevenson in Houston in the 88 to 94 time frame and how lucky I was to have Robert as both a mentor and good friend. Robert was the smartest engineer I ever knew. I didnt matter how difficult the technical issue was Robert would grab a scrap piece of paper and sketch out a solution and 90% of the time it worked the first time with little to no adjustments. I owe much of my early success as an engineer to Roberts mentoring. Over the years I visited Robert and Ruth In Baytown and was always treated like a King even when I brought my g- kids. His love of dogs and the fact he and Ruth would foster over 20 at a time is another reason Roberts life was filled w/ quality endeavors that made the world a much better place. I will miss our 35 year long friendship. He was truly a great man and friend. Rest in peace my friend.
