Obituary Angeline Kubeczka “Angie” Kotch
Heaven has gained another Angel. Angeline Kubeczka “Angie” Kotch left this world to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. She joins her one true love and husband of seventy-one years, Robert John “Bob” Kotch. Angeline, Angie, Mother, Mom, Granny or Auntie as she was known to all, is survived by all six of her children and their spouses: Robert Michael and wife Gayle of Concan, Jack Bernard of Houston, Denise Ann and husband Gerald Lusk of Willis, David Bryan and wife Lisa of Houston, Kay Eileen and husband Chris Cupelli of Kingwood and Angela Kristen and husband Trey Whitley of Kingwood; fourteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins too numerous to count. She is also survived by her siblings: sisters Bernadine and husband Bernard Syzdek of Magnolia, Patricia Ann and husband Bernice Anderson of Houston; and brother James Kubeczka and wife Carol of Dayton.
Angeline was born at Jeff Davis Hospital in Houston on August 14, 1928. She was raised on the northeast side of Houston where she attended Jeff Davis High School. She married Bob in 1950 and lived in the Houston Heights where she began her family. Soon that garage apartment became too small, and they moved to a house in north Houston where she and Bob continued growing their family, raising five kids there. In 1971 they moved to Forest Cove where they added a sixth child, and Angie lived there until the time of her death at 94 years young.
As a young lady, Angie volunteered with the USO. She was active in her children’s’ schools with the PTA and as a leader for the Girl Scouts of America. She was always a faithful Catholic, planting seeds for her children. She was a member at Holy Name, Assumption, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Mary, and St. Martha. She enjoyed gardening and in her later years, she was active in the Forest Cove Garden Club. Angeline was very social, and she dearly loved gathering with her family -- whether it was one of the thousands of camping trips, weddings or family get-togethers like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, or birthdays, or just when someone came by to visit, she greeted them with open arms. Her family and her time with them was the most important thing. Angie was also known to enjoy an adult beverage on occasion – but as everyone knows, she drank with class as a consummate lady… always with her pinky finger out! She will be dearly missed.
Services will be at Rosewood Cemetery in Porter and St Martha where her grandsons will serve as pallbearers to carry her to be with her husband for eternity.
