Obituary for
Dail Estelle Breazeale (Poche')
Dail Estelle Breazeale (Poche’) gained her heavenly reward upon her death on January 8, 2023 in Hudson, Texas.
Dail was born on October 22, 1929 in Beaumont, Texas to parents Wilfred J. and Mildred (Lowe) Poche’. Her family moved to Houston in the Manchester area when she was ten years old. She graduated from Milby High School on Friday May 30, 1947 and married her husband of 45 years Hugh “Dobbin” Breazeale on Saturday, May 31. They established their home in the Manchester area until the late-60s when they moved to a new home in Gulf Meadows. In 1979, they built a new home and moved to the Porter area where they were closer to her husband’s family.
Dail followed in her mother’s footsteps and became a licensed beautician and kept her certification active beyond age 70. However, most of her employment years were with T.J. Bettes and Lomas & Nettleton financial mortgage companies, where she ascended to a role of executive secretary.
After her husband’s death in 1992, Dail lived with her daughter Donna’s family. This combined multi-generational household was a blessing to many as she shared her joy to all she met. It was very common to see her present at all the family’s activities even as her health declined in her later years. She had a gift of being able to cross generational boundaries and encourage all ages from small children through the elderly.
Dail’s faith in Christ was evident through her sharing of joy and her commitment to serving others. She regularly spoke of God’s blessings and spent time each day reading her Bible and in prayer. She and her family worshipped at Pecan Park Church of Christ while in Houston and then later became a part of the Porter Church of Christ for 40+ years. “Sister B” taught children’s Bible classes and was also a mentor to many young ladies throughout her life. She could offer wisdom in an encouraging way. She was also usually the last to leave the church building after helping clean up following fellowships and other events. She will be richly remembered for the blessing she gave to many in the form of Linus, her popular orange puppet. She led puppet ministries at both Pecan Park and Porter as part of Vacation Bible Schools and Children’s Bible Hours and even had a few mission trips and roadshows to parks and schools. Linus, and her favorite song, “Jesus Loves Me” are recognized by many and numerous young children that grew up watching Linus later became part of the puppet ministry through her encouragement.
Our Mom, Mamo and Sister B loved greatly and was loved by many. Her encouragement and example will be greatly missed but will last for generations to come. Also, she would want us to remember: “Be nice”, “Yes indeed”, and “Eat dessert anytime you want”.
