Shirley Adelle Bates Creekmore was born on May 11, 1926 to Myrtle Jessie Koinm Bates and Felix Bates in Humble, Texas. She passed from this life on October 4, 2022 at the age of 96 at her home in Humble, Texas.

Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Felix Bates, her brother, Wallace Bates and her husband, Russel Creekmore. Shirley married, Russel Creekmore, on June 3, 1961 and they were married for 47 years.

Shirley is a descendant of the Koinm family, one of Humble’s first families from Germany. She is a 4th generation of the Koinm family. She attended Jeff Davis High School in 1944. Her brother, Wallace Bates, served in the military during WWII.


Shirley is survived by a nephew, Stephen Bates of Humble, Texas and a niece, Cynthia of California.
