He told her he broke wild horses for a living, which he didn’t, but he still caught her heart. John and Shirley married March 7th, 1952 and shared a beautiful life of 62 years. They gave their hearts to Christ at Plymouth Assemble of God in Houston where John preached, and Shirley sang. During the summer tent revivals Shirley was heard singing blocks away. In the 70’s they co-pastored beside Bobby and Doris Morgan at Moss Hill Assembly of God. Shirley led the singing, and secretarial work. They also owned and operated Morgan Tire Service. God shifted their lives to accept the call to pastor Souls Harbor Pentecostal Church in 1989 for 11 years.
