Obituary for Gary Amon Wright

Gary Amon Wright, 68, passed from this life on Sunday, September 11, 2022 in Humble, Texas.

He was born to George Thomas and Marian Rosetta Wright in Bryan, TX on November 9, 1953.

After graduating from Aldine High School in 1972, he married Rebecca Wilkerson on June 17, 1972 and they were married for 50 wonderful years. They were blessed with one son, Chad Everett.

Gary had various jobs before starting his own business in 1976. The company has evolved and is still going strong under the direction of his son.

He felt a call to the ministry as a young man under the leadership of Rev. Clyde Patton and Rev. Billy Brown. He began serving as a captain and youth leader before going on to pastor churches in Oak Forest and Tomball, TX. For the past 10 years and until the time of his passing, he was pastoring Houston Gospel Assembly.

His ministry grew until it reached into multiple states in the US; even being called to the mission field in countries such as Cuba and El Salvador. He was a mentor to young ministers and a teacher of all things that pertain to life and godliness. He completely dedicated his life to the work of the Lord.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Marian Wright.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, son, Chad (Shaelyne) granddaughters, Emma, Anna, and Abby Wright. One brother, Jeff (Renee’), niece, Amber (Brent), nephews, Brandon (Valerie), and Coby and several great-nieces and great-nephews, also many friends.
