Obituary for Daniel Edward Baker

Daniel Edward Baker
Daniel Edward Baker Obituary
Daniel “Danny” Edward Baker died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, chemotherapy
and Covid at Methodist Hospital, Willowbrook Houston Texas.
He was born to Larry and Carol Baker on January 4, 1969 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated
from Kingwood High School in 1988. Danny went on to attend Lamar University in Beaumont,
Texas. After college, he worked for several Lift Station construction companies before he
became employed by the Harris County Engineering Department as an Inspector in September,
2012 until his death.
Danny was an avid outdoorsman but his biggest joys were training and hunting his dogs, Tuff,
Drake, and Juan. He enjoyed hunting ducks and geese with his many friends from high school
and those he met during his adventures. He also led duck and goose hunts for Fin and Fowl in
Texas, where he enjoyed the outdoors with other outdoorsmen, but especially young hunters
where he led and assisted them in hunting and shooting skills.
Danny was a do-it-yourselfer, making / inventing much of his hunting equipment. He was a
dreamer, an idealist, a restless thinker who was mechanically inclined, who could quickly
determine why something wasn’t working, then fix it and make it better. A shy person but once
unleashed with friends, could talk forever. He shared everything and all that he had. His
generosity and decency to others was extra special. The adjectives to describe Danny are many:
empathetic, strong, pure of soul, courageous, giving, born with a tenacious heart, always
focused on what was unfair or wonderful in his life, and always trying to make a difference in
everyone’s lives. He lived in agony the last few years but didn’t give up on life….He fought for
every second. He is an inspiration to all of us.
Survivors include mother, Carol Albright and her husband Walter Albright of Atascocita, Texas,
and sister, Jayme Smith and her husband Mark Smith of Splendora, Texas, his step brothers
Paul Albright of Austin, Texas, Scott Albright and family of Spring, Texas and Jeffery Albright and
wife Michelle and family of Spring, Texas and step sister Andrea Mioducki and husband Dennis
of Spring, Texas and Uncle Ray Weaver of Coldspring, TX and his family. He was preceded in
death by his father, Larry Baker, grandfather Allan Brewer, grandmother Charlotte White both
of San Diego California and grandparents John and Loris Baker of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30 th at 10 a.m. at the Rosewood Funeral home
in Atascocita 17404 West Lake Houston Parkway, Humble Texas 77346.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local food bank of choice.
