Maurene Mason Woolverton passed away peacefully in her sleep on 06/20/2022 in Houston, TX. She was born on June 27, 1938 in Kaufman, TX to E.A. “Cooter” Mason and Cordelia Lane Mason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Willingham and her 2 brothers, D.L. Mason and H.J. Mason. She is survived by her sister Ruby Self of Bakersfield, CA. She leaves behind her daughter Sherita Edwards of Mt. Enterprise, TX, daughter Donna Gary and spouse Sidney Keith Gary of Mt. Enterprise, TX, son Brent Woolverton and spouse Judy of Houston, TX, and daughter Jaye Fernandez and spouse Juan Fernandez of Houston, TX. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jason Gary and spouse Bobbie, Tracie Compeau and spouse Aaron, Nathan Edwards, Brent Woolverton, Jr. and spouse Jamie,Shannon Villearreal, Jenna Fernandez, Cory Gary, Joseph Gary, Christina Ruelaz and spouse Tino and Trulie Fernandez, as well as 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She loved to collect frog-related paraphernalia, she loved her 2 dogs, Honey and Hershey, she loved gardening, shopping, reading, watching western movies and listening to country music, spending time with and cooking for her family on birthdays and holidays.

There will be a graveside birthday celebration on 06/27/2022 at Rosewood Cemetery, 2602 South Houston Ave., Humble, TX 77396 starting at 10:00 AM following with a Celebration of Life to be held at the residence of Cory Gary.
