Windle Hooker peacefully departed this earthly life on June 15, 2022.

Windle was preceded in death by his loving and doting wife, Alice, and his son Greg Hooker. He is survived by his son Kenneth Hooker and wife Brenda, son Steven Hooker, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born to parents Clarence and Bernice Haynes Hooker, on January 1, 1938, in Bowie County. He attended Hooks High School in Hooks, Texas.

Windle worked for Oak Farms as a milk man on the northside of Houston during the day, while working at night to get a flooring business off the ground. In 1972, O.W. Hooker floors opened its doors. Windle owned and was part of the operation of the business until the day he passed.

Windle’s passions included racing cars with his brother-in-law, Sonny Garner, working, and fishing, fishing, fishing whenever he could - preferably in his Skeeter boat. A man of few words, he enjoyed playing poker and buying scratch off tickets when out on his Sunday drive. Windle loved Dr. Pepper, fried crappie, Dairy Queen, and Blue Bell Great Divide ice cream.

Windle will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many customers that he served over the years.
