Obituary for Shirley J Duncan (York)

Shirley Joann York Duncan
Born August 8, 1936 in Sciotodale , Ohio, to Charles and Magel York, Joann went to be with Our Lord on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at the age of 85 years old.
Joann was a talented singer, self-taught pianist, artist, painter, seamstress and overall crafty woman. There was nothing that she decided to be or to learn that was less than realized. Shirley Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Magel York, brother David York, her loving husband of nearly 47 years, Oley Ray Duncan, her only son Jimmy Ray Duncan, and precious grandson William Ancel McMillan.
Joann is survived by her sisters, Elsie Hayes of Cleveland and Roberta Hawk of Lufkin, daughter Terri McMillan and husband Robert of Crosby, daughter Toye Elkins and husband Dennis of Huffman, daughter Shirley Camidge and husband Brian of Atascocita; grandchildren Robert McMillan Jr. and wife Amanda, Majel Alexander and husband James, Natalie Hart and husband Matt, Kristy Camidge, Mattie Wade and husband Robert, Taylor Elkins, and Matthew Camidge along with 17 beautiful great grandchildren, countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2022 at noon, at Rosewood Funeral Home in Atascocita. Pastor Johnny Brady officiating. Burial services to follow at San Jacinto Cemetery.
