Ethel Rose Kersten Keys of Houston, Texas passed away on April 23, 2022 in Houston, Texas
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 3rd, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble, Texas with Pastor Jon Salminen of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Pearland, Texas, officiating.
Ethel Keys was born in Houston, Texas to Edward and Thelma Kersten on March 12, 1930. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in Houston, Texas. She married James C. Keys on July 14, 1950, in Houston, Texas. She worked as a Human Resources Retirement Specialist for Prudential Insurance Company for over 25 years. Besides her devotion to her family and faith, she was involved in Lutheran Church activities and enjoyed card making, sewing, cake decorating and making Christmas ornaments. She made sure that all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren received an ornament every Christmas. She also made sure all her friends and relatives received a homemade Christmas card every year.
Ethel Keys is proceeded in death by her Father Edward Kersten, Mother Thelma Kersten, brother Edward Alan Kersten, sister Virginia Flippin, brother Edward William Kersten, brother John Kersten and brother Graham Kersten.
Ethel Keys is survived by her husband, James C. Keys, sons Jamie Keys and wife Paula, Mark Keys and wife Dena, Phillip Keys and wife Stacy, daughters Karen Proctor and husband Craig, Nancy Krenek and Kathy, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Joshua Keys, Adam Keys, Michael Keys, Jason Proctor. Also, Jonathan Hellmuth, Wesley Reader, Dave Dinkel and David Krenek.
The family wishes to thank Rosalind Hobbs-Brown for her extra special care and friendship while caring for our mother/grandmother.
