Obituary for
Robert Edward Lee Lamb
Robert (Bob) Edward Lee Lamb, 98, of Houston, Texas, went to his heavenly home Friday July 23, 2021. He was a beloved father and grandfather, a respected businessman and a Christian.
He was born on March 26, 1923 in West Columbia, Texas to Gladys and Robert E. L. Lamb. The family moved to Houston, Texas where he was a longtime resident Bob graduated from John H. Reagan High School in the Heights. He attended University of Houston.
As a teen he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping on White Oak Bayou where TC Jester and 43rd Street are today. He continued enjoying fishing throughout his adult life.
Bob served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. While at Bryan Air Field, he married Marjorie Ruth Harrison, of Bryan, Texas.
In 1945 they moved to Houston where he began his career in electrical engineering until his retirement from Foster Wheeler Corporation in 1986. During his career he traveled throughout the United States and abroad.
Bob was preceded in death by Marjorie, his wife of 66 years, Gladys and Robert E.L. Lamb, parents, Katherine Agnes Lamb, sister, John L. Elam, brother in law, Dorothy Elam, sister in law, Frank Randell, brother in law, Ethel Randell, sister in law, J.N. Harrison, brother in law, and Marjorie Harrison, sister in law. Bob is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn and husband, Fred Nelson, and Barbara and husband, Marlin Hendry. Grandchildren are Carol and husband, Scott Zeitz, Kimberly and husband, Joe Kelpen, Kelly and husband, Kyle Estes, and Charles and wife, Jackie Parker. Great grandchildren are Varren, Trey, Taylor Parker, Courtney and Michael Sulak, Kara and Joey Kelpen, Isabella Zeitz, and lan Martinez. Great great gandsons are Colton Haegely and Jaxon Foster. In addition, Bob is survived by many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Bob was an active member of Baptist Temple in the Heights and most recently Tallowood Baptist Church where he served as an active deacon. He was a member of the Joshua Bible Study Class whose members remained in contact with him after he moved to assisted living in New Braunfels. Bob was a dedicated
Christian and served the Lord throughout his life. He gave the Lord credit for all the things he and his family were given.
