Charles “Dado” Noel passed away peacefully in New Caney, Texas on July 10, 2021 at the age of 90.
Charles is survived by his daughters Deborah Waggoner, Brenda Dobson, and Sandra Noel; his grandchildren Brandon Waggoner, Lisa (Gary) McCorquodale, Layton (Michelle) Mooring, Leslie (Eric) Turner, Daniel (Samantha) Dobson, Scott (Amber) Dobson, and Erin (Tim) Sorenson; his siblings Ralph (Helen) Noel, Judean Boone and Patsy (Bobby) Conner; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Milen Noel, his wife Lula McCarty Noel; his parents John and Flora Noel and siblings Helen Foster, Opal Jackson, John Noel Jr., Robert Noel, James Noel, Paul Noel, Bobbie Ramsey, and David Noel.
Charles was born on June 26, 1931 in Zavalla, Texas to John and Flora Noel. Charles had eleven siblings and as a child enjoyed playing in the pond and climbing trees. He graduated from Zavalla High School in 1949. In 1952, while on leave from the Air Force in Tennessee, he met and married the pretty and kind Lillian. After moving to Houston,Texas, Charles began working for Southern Pacific Railroad as a Switchman. Over the next several years, the couple welcomed their three daughters into their home and Charles set about teaching them to always put God and family above all. They were happily married for over 50 years before Lillian passed away. Charles later married the precious Lula McCarty and they enjoyed several years together traveling America, visiting friends, and always celebrating Jesus. He will be remembered as a dedicated family man who encouraged everyone to pursue the Lord, enjoy a good meal, and have a good laugh.
Charles was a member and Deacon of Bethel Baptist Church and was dedicated to many of the programs there including the Sonshiners Club, were he proudly served as President and Awanas, where he was a listener for many years. Charles loved to travel on cruises, go camping in his RV, and exercise with his friends in his silver sneakers classes.
A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. July 14, 2021, and the funeral is scheduled 10:00 a.m. for July 15, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church. Charles will be laid to rest at Rosewood in New Caney directly following services. There will be a reception to follow at the church. Pastor Tim Davis will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charles's life.
