Obituary for James Dale Clowers

James Dale Clowers was born on November 23, 1956 in Houston, Texas to Bernard Marler Clowers and Dollie Wright. He peacefully passed away July 8, 2021 at his home in Humble, Texas at the age of 64.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Clovia Clowers. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Clowers-Banks and husband Keyaundra of Humble, Bernard "Sonny" Clowers and wife Donna Clowers of New Caney and Laverne Brewer of San Marcos. Grandchildren; Tristian Hunter Hill, Brooke Kaylyn Clowers, Keyaundra JaCobie Banks Jr., and Braylon James Banks.
After graduating from New Caney High School in 1975, he received his Associates of Arts Degree from San Jacinto College in 78'. He worked in the grocery business, first at Brookshire Brothers as a Manager, then owning his own for store for a while. As time went on, he pursude a variety of careers with the oil and gas industry, the last one being with Abaco Drilling Technologies in Houston, Texas.
James had many interest and hobbies. He enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing. He loved woodworking, where you could always find him in his garage cutting and hammering away on various projects. As an avid sports fan he closley followed and attended high school and college games, as well professional teams. He didn't have a favorite, he just loved the game! Vacations and weekend get-a-ways with his family was where he found so much joy. Spending those times with his grandkids was his treasures.
James was not only a loving and caring Husband, Father and Grandpa, he was a Man of God. In addition to being a Deacon, he coached Upward Basketball, taught Sunday School and attended bible studies on regular basis. You could also find him behind the scenes preparing and troubleshooting audio/ visual equipment for Sunday morning church services. His search for knowledge and understanding The Word never stopped.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Rosewood Funeral Home. Funeral will follow thereafter at 2:00pm in the Rosewood Memorial Chapel.
