Bryan loved working as a Houston Firefiighter for 23 years. Jan 1, 1959 – Feb 15th, 1982. His final assignment was as a Sr. Captain at FS #67. He made many life long friends in the Fire Dept. The family grew up with many of his firefighting friends and families of which they are still friends with today. They camped out, fished, hunted and celebrated holidays together often. Besides friends, there were lots of family members that were also firefighters.

Bryan was tough on his sons, Tom, Tim and Troy and tried vigorously to keep them on a straight and narrow path in life. He taught them to work hard for what they wanted in life because nothing is free, except God’s Love, Mercy and Forgivness, by the blood of Jesus Christ. He supported his three sons in their sports interests of football, baseball, track and Tom’s love of music. Dad drove them to and from practices and games. Later as teenagers, he bought cars for them that were usually torn up doing crazy teenage stunts like racing and going places that they shouldn’t have gone.
He helped grandchildren with college tuitions and food plans as they attended.
Dad taught his family how to hunt and fish and on many of their weekend trips and vacations. He loved seeing the joy on their faces, especially Mom’s as she always caught fish when no one else could.
He loved taking all of his family, including the grandkids, Motor Homing with their friends as they were members of a Motor Home Club for years. They usually had family and friends with them as they traveled.
Dad led an HONORABLE life and has always been a great example for his sons, grandchildren and friends to follow. This last year was extremely difficult for him without his wife (Betty Sue), the love of his life and BEST FRIEND. We will miss Bryan and Betty and pray for their reuniting together with other family members in PARADISE.
