Obituary for Francis Pope Beasley

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also and he
praises her. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman
who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:28, 30

Francis Lane Pope Beasley was born on May 4, 1942 and went
home to be with Jesus on May 14, 2021. She was raised in Houston by
her father, Erno Baxter Pope Sr. and her grandmother, Mattie Mae Pope.
As the feisty and protective middle sister, Francis often acted as a
second mother to her siblings, Geneva and E.B. Jr.
In 1982, Francis married her husband, Jerry Ray Beasley and,
together, they built a life of love and adoration for 38 years.
Francis was a caring mother, a devoted grandmother, and a faithful
friend. She was always eager to brag on her family and took every
opportunity to attend their ball games, steer/horse shows and band
concerts. Francis was an avid reader and a lover of beautiful jewelry.
She liked to travel and found great joy in serving at her church. Francis
loved others fiercely and without abandon. She was a constant example
of showing Christ’s love to all those around her.
Francis is preceded in death by her father, Erno Baxter Pope Sr.;
her siblings, E.B. Pope Jr. and Geneva and George Hatfield; and her son,
Craig Beasley.
Francis will be forever cherished by her husband, Jerry Beasley;
her children, Gene and Michelle Sealy, Beverly and Britt Baker, and
Leslie and Bob Barlow; her grandchildren, Brittany Baker, Brandon and
Lauren Baker, Kyle Sealy, Trevor Sealy, Jason and Tara Beasley,
Nathan Beasley, Catrina Beasley, Jennifer Beasley, Waylon and Christy
Rawson, Sarah Jean and Quincy Pohl, Luke Nelson, Craig Barlow,
Sarah and Judd Young, and Jessica Barlow; her sisters and brothers-inlaw, Connie Pope, Brenda and Eddie Blythe, and Jack and Mary
Beasley; and 17 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and
nephews.
