Obituary for Beverly Jones (Barker)

Beverly Barker Harrison Jones, 85, made her calling to the Lord on April 22, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born in Houston, Texas June 12, 1935. She was a lifelong resident of Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School, Class of 1954. She attended Sam Houston State University.

Beverly, also known as Granny, enjoyed cooking, ironing, going to the farm, visiting Colorado, and watching her granddaughters play softball. She was often the hit of the game with her homemade chocolate chip cookies. She loved to watch the Astros and Rockets and would often call Paul throughout the game to provide updates. She loved spending time with her family and friends especially her neighbors on Garfield Street. During her working years, she was employed by Texas Employers Insurance Company and Dr. Faber McMullen.

Beverly is preceded in death by her parents William Arthur and Alma Lucille Barker, and her brother Joseph J. Barker. She is survived by her son Paul Harrison and Donna Sue, and by granddaughters Emily and Haley Harrison. She loved her granddogs Cooper and Archie.

A graveside service will be held at County Line Cemetery, Willis, TX, on Wednesday, April 28th at 1:00 PM.

Special thanks to Pallbearers: Jeff Moronko, Louis Hall, Joe Ochoa, Steve Conard, Jason Barfield, and Blake Barfield

Honorary Pallbearers: Nephews - John Ray Harrison, Michael Harrison, Kipper Harrison and Robert Harrison

The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers and love sent our way. Special thank you to her friends Dora and Joe, Mary and Larry, Rita and Rosie that would call her almost daily to check up on her and to make her laugh or smile. A big thank you to Paul’s co-workers that loved to hear from “Granny” and always asked about her. Her calls and sense of humor will be missed by many.
