Lizzie Marie Casteel was born on April 15, 1950 to the parentage of the late Robert Lee Rochelle and Lucretia Rochelle in Texarkana, Texas. She united with Oak Grove Baptist Church at age 12.
Lizzie attended Oak Grove Elementary and Dunbar High School in Texarkana and graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 1973. After college she worked at Lone Star Army Depot in Texarkana. Lizzie married her high school sweetheart, Brad Casteel and the union produced 3 sons. In Houston Lizzie worked at Texas Southern University until going to work at the U.S Postal Service where she retired after 30 years she was a distribution clerk at Willow Place Post Office. Lizzie dedicated her life to taking care of her boys, She loved singing Negro Spirituals and attended church in her area of town. Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband Bradfield Casteel Sr. & son Bradfield Casteel Jr.
