Obituary for Elmer C. Wiley

After a lengthy illness, Elmer C. Wiley went home to be with Jesus on February 11, 2021. Elmer was born on September 11, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to Clarence and Sarah Lou Wiley. Elmer was a loving man of God who had a true servant’s heart. He retired from his job at Nationwide Paper Company in Detroit at age 60. He and Dorothy moved to Kingwood, Texas and met the most wonderful group of Christian friends (The Volunteer Christian Builders). For 26 years, Elmer and Dorothy traveled across America building churches on a volunteer basis. They feel these were the best years of their life and treasure the precious memories made.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy (Mason) Wiley; their children Sharon Thornton (David), son Ronnie Wiley (Laurie). He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Scott, Garrett, Jennifer, Rebekah, Alicia and eight great-grandchildren. Elmer is preceded in death by his son, Gary W. Wiley.
