Obituary for Robert Wayne Nichols

On Friday, February 5, 2021, Robert Wayne Nichols “Chip” loving husband, father of four, brother, uncle, friend and children’s pastor went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 59.
Chip was born on December 2, 1961, in Houston, TX, to Clyde Ray Nichols and Geraldine Beavers and Kenneth Beavers. Chip was a truck driver for over 45 years being employed by several trucking companies as well as being a self-employed truck driver. On December 17, 2010, he married Laura Palomares and the two families were united.
Never underestimate the power of the internet. Thanks to eHarmony, Chip and Laura met and knew right away that they would become a family. They co-pastored the children’s department of the Coat of Many Colors Ministries in Baytown, TX for 10 years. The children adored pastor Chip for his sense of humor and his loving affection and listening ear.
Chip also had a passion for motorcycles and guns. He believed in always carrying two guns “ just in case.” He was able to go on the trip of a lifetime traveling 1300 miles with his bromance Enrique Bustillos to Sturgis, South Dakota via his Harley Davidson Electra Glide in 2018.
Chip was preceded in death by his father, Clyde and mother Jerri, step-father Kenneth, mother-in-laws, Emily Palomares and Lettie Meddows, brother Mike Nichols, brother-in-law Keith McMichael and adoptive mother of Kyle, Natalie and Nathaniel Lynn Nichols.
He is survived by his wife Laura and children Kyle and wife Kim Nichols, Natalie Nichols, Nathaniel Nichols, Lourdes Palomares, brothers Steve Collingsworth, Ronnie Collingsworth, Kenny Beavers, David Beavers, sister Toni Vollmer, numerous nieces, nephews, friends and his loving dogs Pugsley and El Chapo.
