I am sad to hear of John's passing. We go back to Aldine High School in the 50s. John was cousin to my late wife Sue Coburn whose family acquired Lacey Flower Shop from John's parents in 60s and it became Coburn Flowers. I pray for Judy on her loss. She lived a few houses down from me as we were childhood friends. John was at my wedding, at my wife's funeral, and at the 60th reunion of the class of 1959 in 2019. John and I are both University of Houston graduates. The 50s was a simpler time and all the northside was "family". Everyone bought their flowers from Lacey Flower Shop. I even made some part-time money delivering flowers. The owner of Rosewood once had an office in the flower shop doing insurance as he developed Rosewood. So now John and Sue and so many other family members are once again united in God's house. I am thankful to have known John. And may God give strength and understanding to Judy and the extended family.
