Dear Randy, Jill, Jake and Family, Please accept my deepest sympathy for the tremendous loss of beloved Kathy. For me, it was a privilege to become a co-worker, colleague, team member and friend of Kathy’s and she has left the Earth a much better place for us all. I’m sure God’s got her on some Welcoming Board of Directors in heaven, by now. From the 80’s days of mainstreaming her students in my classes, to the story-swapping times we’d share, to our sisterhood in Delta Kappa Gamma, she’d never cease to amaze me. Her calm strength, positivity, we-can-do-this attitude and resilience has greatly impacted all our worlds. The beauty and brilliance, inside and out, that she brought to challenges was beyond compare. Her infectious smile and the twinkle in her eye are the most lasting memories of my encounters over the years. Her gift with words was incomparable, as her multitude of poems and essays continue to bring her spirit to us to cherish for as long as we can. God rest her soul.
