I will always be thankful to Mr. Maggard for sharing his love of hunting and west Texas with Billy and Bubba and for all of their kindness in sharing those experiences with me. On one of those long drives from back out west I was blessed to have Mr. Maggard share his testimony with me. He expressed such a love for the Lord and for his family and how thankful he was for the blessing of being able to share that time with his boys and that he never imagined that they might share a piece of property of their own. Although not a prideful man, I know he was both thankful and proud of that blessing. I had never been to Big Bend and he shared his love of taking church groups out there and decided maybe another trip out there was in order. The Lord had other plans and in this life we were ultimately unable to take that trip. But I look forward to that day and have no doubt that when I do make that journey Mr. Maggard will be smiling down. My condolences to Mrs. Maggard and to Billy and Billy Jr. and the rest of the Maggard family. Please know that Mr. Maggard made a lasting impression on many and I like forward to meeting him again one day in the presence of the Lord.
