Obituary for Judith Ann Kellum (Holland)

Judith Ann Kellum (Holland)
Judith Kellum Pence was born Nov 10th, 1953, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Tom and Hazel Holland. Judy was the oldest of five siblings; Brothers Tom Holland, Mike Holland and Mark Holland (Mark passed at an early age), and sister, Jan Carpenter. Judy was the mother of two beloved children; a son, Eric Kellum and a daughter, Ashlee Kellum Samms.

Judy was an educator majoring in English. She spent 45 years in the Humble school system. For many years she served as an Assistant Principal at Humble High School, as Assistant Principal at Riverwood Middle School, she taught 3rd grade for many years and recently a substitute teacher with Special Needs students.

Judy has left an indelible print on the lives of many former students. Her love for young people was unquestionable. She was a brilliant educator and took special interest in children with special needs whether mentally challenged or economically challenged. She thought nothing of stopping to tie a child’s shoes in the middle of the mall. She had the unique ability to connect with children and young people of all ages and backgrounds.

Judy loved her family with her whole heart and openly expressed her affection for her beloved
mother, siblings and her two children. Judy totally adored her three granddaughters, Faith, Hope and Kynlee. Her family meant everything to her.

Just as Judy loved her students, she had a special love and bond with her friends. She had many friends, and she had the ability to make every friend feel as though they were her best friend.

For more than eight years, Judy was a member of New Covenant Church where she thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the church. She often mentioned how much she loved Pastor Frank Mazzapica’s sermons.

Judy was always the life of the party with her outgoing personality, but deep down she was the beautiful country girl who lived next door. Recently Judy bought herself a brand new mustang. At first, she asked “do you think this car is too much for me”? After all, her son drove a mustang. But shortly thereafter the new mustang became her “hot rod”.

Above and beyond all and most important Judy Kellum Pence loved Jesus and devoted her life to serving Him with her whole heart. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Hazel Holland, brothers, Tom Holland, Mike Holland (Melanie) , sister, Jan Carpenter (Jim), son, Eric Kellum, daughter Ashlee Kellum Samms (Joshua), three granddaughters, Faith Marie Kellum, Hope Ann Marie Samms, and Kynlee Joy Kellum and a host of other relatives and friends.
