Obituary for
William A. Tisdale
William "Willie" Tisdale
Born on August 3rd, 1931 and passed away November 26th, 2020
During his younger years he was raised in Streetman, Texas. He grew up running and fishing the creeks around what is now Richland Chambers Lake. He attended High School in Wortham and then in Teague Texas,
In 1951 he joined the United States Air Force where he worked as a cook and at times a mechanic. He was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, and later transferred to Ellington Field Air Force Reserves in Houston in 1954. He was Honorably Discharged in October of 1958.
While stationed at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, in June of 1953, he met the love of his life, Judy Maynard, at the Landa Park Hot Dog Stand on a weekend trip from base. TWO WEEKS after that meeting, July 1st 1953, they were married and remained married for 60 years until Judy passed away in 2013.
In 1954 he went to work at Highams Cadillac where he worked for 28 years, then opened his own shop and was in business with his sons for another 20 years.
Through the years he also maintained his love of fishing and horse racing. He always had horses running, and followed the Texas circuit of the many County Fairs around the state. If the horses couldn't run, they didn't stay around long. The family built a house at Lake Livingston in the late 70's and spent many weekends there when not at the racetrack.
Willie was always true to his word, he was always on time, and he was always dedicated to his wife and family.
He was a true champion of Integrity, Honesty, and Loyalty.
In lieu of flowers the family asks to contribute to Alzheimer's Association.
