Obituary for Robert Lewis McRae

On Wednesday November 18, 2020, Robert Lewis McRae, a loving husband and father, passed away at 8:20 PM. Robert (known as R.L.) was born February 3, 1934 in Houston, TX to Anna Leona and Robert William McRae. He grew up in East Houston and Sheldon. He attended High school at Sam Houston in downtown Houston when Sheldon road was just a dirt road in the late 40’s and early 50’s graduating in 1952 as the highest ranking officer obtainable in the ROTC. Following high school, he briefly attended Texas A&M University where he found his passion for construction. Throughout his remaining years, he pursued his love for drafting, building real estate, and construction. From home building to commercial properties, he was indeed a master carpenter. His hobbies included, hunting, fishing and he also had a passion for vintage cars. We will remember him by his integrity, quick wit, his kind and compassionate spirit, and his big grin. He always had story to tell, and lit up any room with his infectious laugh. He is survived by his wife Patsy McRae, his children, Robert McRae, James McRae, Brenda Cornett, Marcus McRae, Lisa Schexnayder, Tammie Richter, Terrie Jeane, Tena Jeane, Ronnie Jeane and Crystal Crocker and numerous grandchildren and great grand children. His pallbearers are Marcus McRae, Jr., Brendan McRae, Dylan McRae, Kevin McRae, Tyler Honeycutt, Dalton Crocker, James Lofty and Honorary Nolen Garner. There will be a burial service taking place on November 24, 2020 at 12 noon at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas. The cemetery is located at 2602 S Houston Ave. Humble, Texas 77396.
