Obituary for Delphia Rosemary Ridgway (Lakely)

Delphia Rosemary Lakely Ridgway, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed from this life on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at her home in Pasadena, Texas at the age of ninety-five. She was born on December 13, 1924, in Carmen, Oklahoma, to John and Ethel Lakely. She married her life love, Ben C. Ridgway, in the spring of 1942, just months before he was drafted into the US Army Air Corp. Delphia and her family relocated several times before Ben retired from his long career with Phillips Petroleum, ending in Pasadena. Delphia and Ben were married for 69 years before she was widowed and together they had five children, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grands and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her children Benjamin Allen Ridgway (Debbie), Gloria Jean Carter (Grady-deceased), Gary Lynn Ridgway (Monica), William Ray Ridgway (Karen) and John Lee Ridgway (Denise); her grandchildren Benjamin L. Ridgway, Angela Amrine, Alicia Pyron, Tammy Kowalczk, Kimberly Ridgway, Troy Ridgway, Kourtney Coffman, Kandace Moon, Brittany Briggs and Jessica Sargent; her great-grands Cameron Drew Gregory, Raegan Elizabeth Harris, Rachel Danae Harris, Ryan Carter Harris, Reese McKenzie Pyron, Linleigh Madison Ridgway, Aniston Marie Tiller, Sasha Marie Ridgway, Lyndon Janusz Kowalczyk, Aleksander Ignacy Kowalczyk, Lukasz Allyn Kowalczyk, William Kyle Coffman, Zachary Cole Coffman, Tyler Reid Coffman, Matthew Alexander Coffman, Kirsten Alexis Moon, Hunter Ryan Moon, Aaron Dale Briggs, Violet Marie Sargent and Miles Alan Sargent; her brothers Dennis Lakely, Doug Lakely and her sister Kathy Holt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Ben C. Ridgway, her father and mother John and Ethel Lakely, her brother John Lakely and her sisters Buelah Zalewski, Bebe Nusser, Margie Pshigoda, and Patty Nusser.

Delphia spent her adult years caring for her husband, family and home, providing support and comfort for Ben as he moved for new assignments and cemented his career. She and her family were faithful church goers and she and her husband were involved for many years in the activities of the First United Methodist Church of Pasadena.

Delphia lived a long and productive life, making many friends along the way. She will be missed but never forgotten.
