Obituary for
Cynthia Ann Fraser (Edgerton)
Cynthia Ann Fraser passed away peacefully at her home in Porter, Texas, on Monday,
October 26, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong Texas resident, Cin, Cindy Pie, or
Cindy Lou as she was affectionately called, was born October 30, 1964, and is survived by her
husband of 36 years William “Scotty” Fraser, her faithful daughter dog, Dakota Fraser, parents
Jack and Juanita Edgerton, sister and brother in law, Jimmy and Beverly Mills, adored nieces
Callie and Kendall Mills, sister in law Elizabeth Fraser, and brother in law Kenneth Fraser.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother in law, Molly Fraser, grandparents Callie
“Big Momma” Edgerton, and Luis and Emilia Pena.
After graduation from San Jacinto College, Cindy pursued a career in Medical Imaging
and acquired credentials in x-ray, mammography & ultrasound. An extremely
talented technologist in all 3, ultrasound was her first love, specifically Obstetrics.
Her happiest career day was when she joined the elite Maternal-Fetal Medicine Department at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She was highly regarded by her peers, earned the distinction of Lead Sonographer, and contributed greatly to the development and professional well-being of
countless sonographers over the years. She enthusiastically mentored ultrasound students,
medical students, residents, and fellows and was passionate about sharing knowledge
accumulated over more than 30 years of scanning. Considered an expert in her field, Cindy was
invited to co-teach a hands-on scanning seminar offered by the acclaimed American Institute of
Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
Cindy possessed a boundless appreciation for wildlife and the great outdoors; she and Scotty
traveled extensively and always looked forward to their next big adventure. An avid
photographer, Cindy also loved to fish and hunt - although she sometimes had difficulty putting
down her camera long enough to hunt very effectively. She was a lover of anything purple and
all things Donny Osmond and possessed a rare quick wit that was enjoyed by all who knew her.
She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends and coworkers who loved her deeply.
Services for Cindy will be conducted Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Rosewood Funeral Home,
22271 US-59 N, New Caney, TX 77357.
